Because social media is increasingly diminishing the organic reach of posts, you may need to resort to social media advertising to get your content seen.

Cross-promotion with other local businesses

One of the positive aspects of owning a local business is the ability to develop deep relationships with other local business owners. Through these relationships, cross-promotion strategies can be developed, where each promotes the other’s business. Assuming they aren’t direct competitors, it’s a win-win situation.

Whether it’s something as simple as exchanging business cards or more complicated like direct  how to get more clients on zillow: a simple guide referrals, cross-promotion is a great marketing strategy for local businesses.

Join local business organizations

Local business associations are a great way to develop these cross-promotional relationships or simply network with potential customers. Your local chamber of commerce is an obvious first choice. But you can also focus on more specific organizations. For example, if you’re a graphic artist, look for a local design group.

You don’t have to limit yourself to your own industry either. You can also search for groups where your potential customers are active, even if they don’t fit directly within your industry.

Get involved with local events

In addition to local business organizations, you should also try to participate in local events relevant to your industry. While attending is certainly better than not attending, the best strategy is to take on a speaking or leadership role at the event. These roles not only allow you to gain exposure but also help establish you as an authority i n  aero leads your niche. If you’re a speaker at t he event, it’s because you know what you’re doing, right?
