Content Marketing: 6 Key Steps to Get Started

What steps do you expect your user to take to achieve the ultimate goal you want through content marketing? If you don’t know what you want to achieve, define that first. Creating content just for the sake of creating content is a very bad strategy.

Of course, you may encounter surprises, additional steps, steps that are simply never used, and then you will have to refine this step with new data.

But first, define what you want your visitors to achieve , and the most important steps to get there. For example:

  • Attraction: New users are reading your articles.
  • Interest: Returning users visit your site and share your content.
  • I would like to: send quote requests or contact messages, download price lists.
  • Action: newsletter subscription, online purchase, trial request, etc.

2. Setting your goals

For each stage of the process you established, define what you would like to happen, both numerically and with a timeframe. Ambiguity is the enemy.

If your goal for a stage is “get visitors engaged with our content,” you won’t know if you’re achieving that goal or not.

A clearer goal would be “Get articles best lead generation companies: attracting clients the right way  in the attraction stage to be shared at least 150 times on social media and have more than 20 comments.”

3. Designate those responsible

Who is in charge of your overall content marketing strategy? Do you need to appoint additional staff to support them in certain areas? Establishing responsibilities will help keep your team, even if it’s just one or two people, aligned and committed to the strategy.

4. Use your tools

  • Website: The platform where you’ll publish your content. Even if you create and upload your content to other platforms, such as YouTube videos, your website should be the center of your strategy.
  • Distribution Channels: Choose the social media channels you’ll use as distribution channels, and start building your email subscription lists and other channels you want to use.

Never underestimate email. A well-designed autoresponder will help guide your potential customers through the entire process, designed chin leads  exactly the way you want it.
